VINTAGE SIGNS - HANDCRAFTED IN MONTANA, USA SINCE 1986

The northern rocky mountains are often called the “Crown of The Continent”, referencing the continental divide. This area is home to Glacier National Park and Waterton International Peace Park. To the east of the divide is the beginning of the high plains and the great western prairie which stretches for hundreds of miles to the east. The mountains pictured here are the front range of the northern Rockies. They rise up thousands of feet from the high plains and foothills and present what would have been an impenetrable barrier to early settlers. This area, known for its extremely high winds and massive amounts of snow, restricts residency to only the hardiest of souls.

From the esteemed 'Le Voyageur' series, this piece by John Lichtwardt exemplifies the series' dedication to portraying the vibrant life and color found in the world's most pristine landscapes.
